“I’ve seen those orange things flashing before – couldn’t tell ya what they mean though.”
Luxury car enthusiasts were left in bliss this morning when high-end car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz announced that starting from 2024, their production models will no longer include blinkers as a standard feature.
The move has come as a result of the overwhelmingly low use of blinkers in Mercedes vehicles, with diagnostic data revealing that the blinkers are used on average once every 217km of driving, and often seem to only be applied on accident.
“I hit that little stick next to my steering wheel on accident once and I couldn’t stop that awful clicking sound until I was halfway home – scared the jeebies out of me!”
This follows Mercedes’ announcement that the 2024 models will see a 13% average price increase on the 2023 vehicles, an initiative that combats inflation by ensuring that fewer poor people buy their cars.
More luxury brands are expected to follow suit in the coming weeks.
