We’re less than a week away from the opening round of the Formula One season, the Bahrain Grand Prix. But over the past weekend, the cars took to the track in the desert for pre-season testing. Here, teams test new strategies, see how their newly designed machine performs, and show off to the fans what they’ve got to offer this year.  
The Formula 1 Pre-Season testing runs over a 3 Day period, Thursday through Saturday. Throughout this time, the teams can only have one driver out at a time which means that the teams send out one driver in the morning and one in the afternoon. 

But during pre-season testing, teams will often sandbag [has their drivers go slower than expected during sessions, to hide the real pace of the car], so testing does not always provide an accurate account of who the quickest teams and drivers will be in the year to come. We also watched the high vis paint come out and splashed on the cars to help understand the aerodynamics of this new season’s cars.
