Curation Guidelines

We Are celebrates creative expression in all forms, from short stories and poems to original songs and digital designs. Our curation process values creativity, authenticity, and thoughtful expression. We aim to highlight diverse voices, innovative ideas, and work that reflects curiosity, care, and a willingness to explore new perspectives. All submissions are reviewed with respect for creative freedom and a shared commitment to community standards, originality, and respectful storytelling. These curation guidelines outline our central values in maintaining We Are’s authenticity and reflection of the core values of William Clarke College’s community.

1: We Are Spotify Guidelines

In curating an Editor’s Choice playlist, the editorial team will:

Ensure all songs are free of explicit content, including profanity, sexual references, violence, and substance references.

Thoroughly vet songs for subtle innuendos or hidden inappropriate content or themes that may not be immediately apparent.

Choose songs that are suitable for the specific age group of the student body.

Strive to include a range of musical genres and artists to reflect the school’s diverse community.

Establish a schedule for regularly reviewing (by the chief student board and staff) and updating the playlist to ensure ongoing relevance and appropriateness.

Be prepared to find clean versions of suggested songs if necessary, and provide feedback to students if their suggestions cannot be included.
