I’m going to put on my High-Top Shoes and address the elephant in the room, because JoJo Siwa what is going on. The queer alleged gay-pop icon stated, “I want to start a new genre of music, called gay pop”. Now this sparked a major setback in every community, even the heterosexuals can appreciate Freddie Mercury and the bisexual man that he is. I think it’s safe to say that the Joe Biden x Donald Trump Femininomenon is doing more for the Queer community than JoJo ever has with her hyper-sexual, and hyper-uncomfortable music video Karma.
JoJo’s embarrassing popularity from the music video Karma, only happened because the Queer community was unprepared, quite shocked by her recent behaviour and comments. Of course, no hate from me, honestly, she is out here living her best life and she ain’t letting them haters get in her way. But this newfound fame and glory was short-lived because from the depths of the Pink Pony Club emerged a Super Graphic Ultra-Modern Girl who would restore the heart of gay pop. Her name is Chappell Roan. The Queer community worked overtime to find such a legend who truly understood the essence of what gay-pop is all about. If you need to state that you are trying to be or are gay pop than you have surely misunderstood, and you just don’t have it in you.
Chappell Roan didn’t choose the lesbian life the lesbian life chose her, and when duty called, she delivered. It was like the universe called for Chappell to save us without the universe knowing it needed saving, because her song “Good Luck, Babe!” was released the same day as JoJo Siwa’s “Karma” on April 5th, 2024.
The pop sensation later stated “I am not the inventor of gay pop, for sure not. But I do want to be a piece of making it bigger than it already is. I want to bring more attention to it.” I had a sleep on this statement and After Midnight, it made me realise she may have redeemed that little part in all of us that died the day she said she invented a new genre that has been around since the dawn of time. But in light of everything, I’m sure she’ll come back like a Boomerang.
Like a Kid in a Candy Store, both Chappell Roan and JoJo Siwa are living out their D.R.E.A.M of becoming singers on the big stage. Despite the growing beef, It’s Time to Celebrate because both artists are coming out with more music for us to take, HOT TO GO!
